Nestled within the established suburb of Holland Park West, the Harbut Project demonstrates how thoughtful design and quality construction can completely redefine the way a home is enjoyed. Working alongside Gockel Architect and NGS Engineers, Dirsell Constructions was engaged to deliver an extensive outdoor living extension featuring a custom swimming pool, architectural screening, entertaining areas and significant structural landscaping works.
While the finished project presents as a seamless blend of architecture and outdoor living, the construction process involved overcoming several technical challenges, including restricted access, substantial excavation works and a sloping site. Through careful planning, skilled project management and meticulous attention to detail, the Dirsell team successfully transformed a challenging site into a sophisticated outdoor sanctuary designed for year-round enjoyment.
Scope of Works
This project centred around the creation of a complete outdoor living environment that would enhance both the functionality and visual appeal of the home.

Challenges Overcome
Although visually effortless upon completion, the project presented a number of significant construction challenges.
The sloping nature of the block required extensive planning and coordination to achieve the desired levels across the pool area, entertaining spaces and retaining structures. Access throughout the site was also extremely limited, creating additional complexity for excavation works and material movement.
One of the most demanding aspects of the project was the excavation within the courtyard area. Careful machine operation and precise planning were required to navigate the confined conditions while protecting surrounding structures and maintaining programme timelines.
Through collaboration between the design team, engineers and specialist trades, Dirsell Constructions successfully delivered a high-quality outcome without compromising the architectural vision.
